As the "Draft thread" is principally about young talent, and the upcoming national draft, this thread is for discussion on who may be in the pre-season draft, and which players , in particular, Melbourne and Richmond may be targetting.
Names currently being thrown up are:
Luke Ball
Joel MacDonald
Jesse Smith

I'd have a look at Goose (if available).

Re: The PSD thread
Isn't Ball nominating for the National Draft in the hope of getting to Collingwood at pick #30?

Just on Goose - people have been saying we don't need another KPD - McGuire moved forward for Sandy during the season and kicked a few bags - including 1 of 5 goals.......
I'd look at him, but there might be better options out there.

I don't rate our KPDs as highly as everyone else. There's no more Bowden to stick on Brown, Bradshaw, Tredrea etc when the going gets tough. I reckon Goose at his best is better than what we have. I haven't seen Maguire play in quite a while though.

Re: The PSD thread
We seem to have a pile of late draft picks and have shown in past years we are happy to use them on recyled/disgruntled players.
Look for us to use picks above 60 on senior players, either out of contract or delisted.

Don't forget we can also use a ND pick to upgrade a rookie - we may use one of those for Nahas.

Re: The PSD thread
I'd put Jesse Smith through a rigourus medical examination if he checks out 100%, then and only then would I look at picking him up. But he is the only one of them that I think would suit and benefit us long term in the posistion that we are in.

You wouldn't want Ball if he loves meat pies... but maybe, his thoughts could change.
