Match Review Panel - Rnd 15
#1
Well, Essendon will be breathing easier after that news.

But again, there's inconsistencies among the charges laid and the ones (the Essendon ones) being overturned - especially taking into account the previous reports and suspensions of Stafford and Hall (and Gehrig, Didak, etc etc etc).

how inconssistant are they?

what about chris judd..? unbelievable.

i know there wasn't much in it but gherig and judd himself have been suspended for exactly the same thing this season.

Yes, what got Stafford 2 weeks for jumper punching suddenly becomes wrestling and a fine for McVeigh. I am at a loss to understand how exactly...

OBviously Hyde mustve been back into the thick of it on the weekend in more than 1 way....three of those incidents all involved hyde.......even the one that was let go was welsh punching hyde in the stomach
Enough is enough, we wanna win stuff!!

I'm in agreeance Roar- 'wrestling' was not what McVeigh was doing!
Is this another case of the umpire reporting someone under the wrong offence?
If this is the case (i'm not entirely sure), it seems that the Jonathan Brown loophole of sorts was exposed again.

l'm at a lose that some of these decisions from the tribunal panel
everytime a Tiger player goes up he cops a suspension
Stafford's case was nomore than a wrestle
Has Emment Dunne got the rags on with Richmond or what it seems to me he does

something has to be done next year this system is bullsht. maybe more time is needed to reveiw all the games or more people on the panel, its a hard one, another problem is players are getting off on technicalities because clubs employ lawyers to find them. the afl may need a court room system to stop this and that is just taking things too far. I beleive in set penalties and the past record of the player must come into consideration but the only person who can judge the impact of the incident is the victim, that has to go. behind play should impose a heavier sentence i agree but how can a player be found guilty of striking and get off on a reprimand if he doesn't contest it (Drew Petrie)?, are they trying to free up time for their families maybe? the points system sux and they have to fix it quick.
