Richmond’s new VFL team will play seven of its nine home games at the ME Bank Centre in 2014 as curtain-raisers to the AFL Tigers’ MCG fixtures.

The first of these is on Sunday, May 4, when Richmond and Geelong clash in a Round 5 VFL match at the ME Bank Centre at 11.30am, followed by an AFL meeting of the two clubs at the MCG, from 3.20pm.

This was revealed in the 2014 VFL fixture, released today.

The Richmond VFL side will play the Footscray Bulldogs in the opening round of the 2014 season, at Whitten Oval on Saturday, April 5, at 10.30am.

Funny, I can only count 8 games at the ME Back Centre

EDIT : Found it. Round 9 appears to be a weirdly split round.

Considering our opponents, perhaps it's a spliff round.

Wow how cool is that. Very envious of you Melbournians. Puts a whole new spin on the annual Y&B catch-up match (breakfast, game, lunch, game, dinner). I may not survive

If you can get in.

I'm to young to have seen the Tigers play at Punt Road but apparently we moved to the MCG as Punt road could no longer accommodate the Tiger army. Seems to me that we will need to move our VFL side to the G as well as I cant see Punt rd supporting 70K members at curtain raisers.
