Re: Tigers push ahead with Tassie deal

I think that the AFL are simply running out of places to re-locate the Kangaroos. There is a natural push for Tassie because they are the next obvious place. Who would've thought that the Kangaroos incompetance could actually end up disadvantaging us.

Re: Tigers push ahead with Tassie deal

Interesting article in the Mercury down here in regards to the division of north vs south in Tasmania. They talk about Kangaroos moving down and how it would be good for the competition and how the northerners are whinging about something they haven't a clue about.

Mercury Article

Re: Tigers push ahead with Tassie deal

The only bit of that article that I would hotly dispute is that not one dollar goes back to grassroots footy in Tassie - that is wrong on quite a few levels, and levels that I have witnessed with my own eyes.

The rest of it seems pretty fair to me...my personal view is that Bellerive would be better served being developed into a better cricket venue, rather than footy, but because it's North, I really don't care.

The Examiner in the north and The Mercury in the south do nothing but throw pretrol on the North/South rivalry fire, and neither have the best interests of the State in mind when they do it.

Re: Tigers push ahead with Tassie deal

I'm really surprised there is such a North/South rivalry in Tassie. I had no idea.

Come on Tassie, unite against the mainland.
