Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

#44 Richmond - James Craig (North Adelaide, SA)

Richmond was surprised this under-18 All-Australian selection was still available. Great speed and spring, he'll help further bolster the depleted big-man stocks.

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

#45 Adelaide - Alex Carey (Glenelg)

Carey is a ball winning inside midfielder who was impressive during the champs. Possesses good pace and reads the play well. Carey is very good in close and positions himself well @ stoppages. Appears to possess a good footy brain. Only knock on him would be his kicking penetration which we can hopefully address. Has been likened in some quarters to Bernie Vince.

With his blond tips the girls will luv him !!!!!

The crows appear to have most positions pretty well covered so we have opted for another midfielder, subscribing to the philosophy that you can never have too many quality mids. Probably would have opted for Craig had the Tiges not swooped @ #44.

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

#48 FREMANTLE .MARK HUTCHINGS..EAST PERTH,181CM 81 KG.

I didnt expect mark too go this late, mark was captain of the wa under 18 team this year, and has played 15 senior wafl games in the last 2 seasons.

Mark is a very tough in and under midfielder, with very good endurance ,he can be used as a tagger ,his defensive skill's are excellent ,his overall skill's are good ,his kicking does lack penetration ,but he is a excellent feeder of the ball in contested situations, and makes very good decisions with his disposal.

#49 FREMANTLE ..DYLAN GRIMES .NORTHERN KNIGHTS ,192CM 82 KG

Dylan is quick for his height ,and has very good defensive skill's,he is also a attacking back man ,and takes the game on .

We believe dylan will take a key position in the backline, once he bulk's up,he also has good leadership qualitys ,and was selected as vc for vic metro this year.
We think dylan is like a corey enright type of player, but with more height.

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

Melbourne Pick #50: Ayden Kennedy 191 cm, 79 kg

Ayden is the prototype modern footballer. He is very quick (fastest at draft camp) and very agile (4th in agility) and has very good skills for a medium/tall player who can play forward or back. As with Gysberts we think we are light on for these medium/tall utility type players and are wrapped we could get such a quality player at this point in the draft.

#51 Richmond - Tom Hill (Northern Knights, VIC)
Height: 199cm, Weight: 82kg

Another tall, lord knows we're going to need them.

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

#52 FREMANTLE..JOEL HOUGHTON..PERTH .194CM 82KG

Joel played for wa in the under 18 champs,in one game he kicked 4 goals ,but overall was average at the champs .

Joel tested very well at wa state screening for endurance ,and sprinting,he is at the moment still 17,turns 18 in mid november.

Joel has alot of flair about him,and really takes the game on ,he has all the right attribute's ,his kicking is good ,he is a good mark, has pace and endurance, but lacks application, goes missing a bit .

If joel can apply himself alot more during a game ,he will go a long way, also needs to bulk up more ,could be a boy with very good upside ,or none at all. chf/chb type

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

#pick 53 North: Roland Ah Chee 183cm NT

Midfielder . Excellent ball-winner who thrives on the contest. Will add to the varied mix that North has picked up in this draft.

Re: Selections - Phantom Draft (selections only)

Pick #54 (Sydney)- Joshua Cowan (North Ballarat Rebels)
183cm, 71kg

Another run and carry midfielder to add to the plethora of tough inside players at Sydney. Can also find the pill for himself.

Pick #55 (Sydney)- Sam Shaw (Oakleigh Chargers)
191cm, 77kg

Sydney finish off their selections with this key position player who also has tremendous speed and a magnificent leap. Could even push into midfield much like our beloved Richo.
